Treaties of Detroit, 1855
Three treaties were signed in Detroit in late July and early August 1855. All three treaties are available in this file, however if you would like to read only one specific treaty, please select it from the list:
- Treaty with the Ottawa and Chippewa
- Treaty with the Chippewa of Sault Ste. Marie
- Treaty with the the Chippewa Indians of Saginaw, parties to the treaty of January 14, 1837, and that portion of the band of Chippewa Indians of Swan Creek and Black River, parties to the treaty of May 9, 1836, and now remaining in the State of Michigan.
