Brown, George M. Family Correspondence, 1851, 1886. 1 folder. Family correspondence, mostly from Brown to his brother, Leander Brown, 1851-1881. One letter, dated Sept. 25, 1858, discusses the Civil War draft movement, while another, dated July 23, 1859, mentions typhoid fever. Bio: George M. Brown lived in Amity, Monroe Mills, and Knox County (Ohio), while Leander Brown lived in Pulaski (Jackson County, MI).

Eldred, Alphonso B. 1 item (1 page). Certificate of exemption from draft, Jan. 3, 1865. Bio: Eldred, of Climax (Kalamazoo County, Mich.) proved he had furnished a substitute, named Charles Wood.
