A Garden Fit for a King

Gallery 1

In 1907 as the garden began to take shape, Mrs King began a scrapbook of the garden. In 1929 she gave the book to her gardener Frank Ankney, Ankney had spent twenty years helping Mrs King create and maintain the practical side of what she had envisioned. The Clarke Historical Library has over two hundred photographs and negatives of Mrs. King's Alma garden, including those in the scrapbook.
